I’ve been looking forward to trying this recipe for Potato Nests with Crab and Apple Topping since Béa (of La Tartine Gourmande) posted it on her blog a few months ago, so when some friends invited us over for a little party Saturday night I gladly offered to make an hor d’oeuvre.
The nests are grated potato seasoned with parsley, nutmeg, and peppercorn, then baked with butter. The topping is crab and grated green apple flavored with lime juice, olive oil, coriander, scallions, and chives. Top with a dollop of crème fraiche and a few pomegranate seeds for a wonderful and flavorful little treat. I will definitely be making this again.
