dry the river

Nolan and I saw the Bowerbirds at the Independent on Friday night. They were fantastic (as usual) but we particularly enjoyed the opening act from Dry the River, a folk-rock band from the UK. Their debut album, Shallow Bed, comes out next week.

stairway walks: corona heights

Nolan picked up a wonderful little book last year called Stairway Walks in San Francisco, a guide that highlights dozens of walks around the city. We did the Corona Heights walk this weekend culminating in a hike up Corona Hill for an incredible view of the city. Halfway up the hill a man and his dog were enjoying the view; I couldn’t resist snapping a photo. Such a great way to explore more off-the-beaten path parts of the city.¬†Here’s to hoping the weather is nice this upcoming weekend for another stairway walk!

I’ve been sitting on two rolls of exposed 120 film I shot with my Holga a few years ago, and finally got around to developing and scanning them this weekend. The color shot is from Matt and Callie’s wedding in Asheville, North Carolina, and the black and whites are from a trip to Myrtle Beach with Nolan’s folks. I need to take that little camera out more often.
