sandals i have loved

The forecast is calling for 80 degree temps towards the end of the week, which means it’s time to break out the sandals! Here are a few I wouldn’t mind slipping on my freshly pedicured feet…

1. Aldo Madison, $50; 2. Frye Jacey sandal, $138; 3. Seychelles Women’s Get Outta Town Flat, $80; 4. Jeffrey Campbell Tier, $72; 5. Pink Studio infinite sandal, $78; 6. Lucky Penny, $118.

swing into spring…

…with these short but sweet dresses from the Thread Social spring 2010 collection. I’ll take one of each, please.

Things have been a little crazy around here this week, and I’m relieved to have the weekend to get my bearings back. I fear that the blog has suffered a bit the past few days, but I will be back next week with all sorts of lovely bits of inspiration and pretty things! Enjoy your weekend, friends.

This picture has been cracking me up all week. Cats are the best. Seriously.

friday finds: home sweet

Beautiful block-printed home goods (tea towels, lampshades, pillows and more) from Etsy shop Home Sweet. The shop also has a lovely collection of fabrics for those of you with DIY inclinations. I’m really loving the chevron pattern.

the big pink

Awesome gig poster for The Big Pink by Option-G. I’m not familiar with their music, but you can check it out here. That’s what I’ll be doing this morning!

NH farmhouse

Loving the yellow accents in this sweet New Hampshire Farmhouse. So cheery! And ohmygoodness how gorgeous is that kitchen?

dream outfits

Love this twist on ‘what I wore today‘ by Kate Wilson. I can’t decide which is cuter– the drawings or the outfits!

food, lately

Mexican Tortilla Salad – A delicious, healthy, and hearty salad… just what I needed after a week of crappy eating. I bet this would be tasty with the addition of some diced southwestern-style chicken, too.

BBQ Chicken Pizza – Pizza is one of my favorite things to make, and I’m always on the lookout for new recipes to try. And holy smokes, this was good. Two thumbs up.

Sweet and Salty Cake – I tried this recipe from Baked bakery in NYC for Nolan’s birthday last weekend. If you love chocolate, you’ll flip for this insanely decadent three-layer cake. It might be the best cake I’ve ever had. BUT it was also the most labor intensive cake I’ve ever attempted, and shortly after this picture was taken the top layer broke in half and started sliding off. I thought if I put it in the fridge the icing would harden up and everything would stay put. Wishful thinking… I ended up sticking skewers into the cake to keep it together. It wasn’t the prettiest cake, but it certainly was tasty. Once my ego has a chance to heal, I will try, try again!

Tell me, have you tried any new recipes lately?
