scenes from the weekend

Scenes from the weekend looks a little different this morning, as all photos were all taken on my new iPhone (wahoooo!) using the CrossProcess app. Besides the trip to the Apple store and meeting some friends for dinner Saturday night it was a pretty quiet weekend. I did a bit of reading and spent some quality time in the kitchen making Deb’s raspberry breakfast bars, granola, and meatloaf burgers with a fruit/nut cheese spread for grilling Sunday night. Hope you had a lovely one!

friday finds: debbie carlos

I’m crazy for Debbie Carlos‘ large-scale black and white posters…

split-fountain invitations

Loving these split ink fountain invitations designed by Julia Kostreva and printed by the always amazing Studio on Fire.

grey walls

I really really want to paint our living room grey. I was in an apartment yesterday that had Benjamin Moore’s Silver Fox on the walls and ohhh, it was lovely. I think my husband is going to take a bit of convincing… therefore, some inspiration photos!

les khakis de chanel

So I know I was just talking about how happy I am that summer weather has arrived in San Francisco, but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited about Fall. Case in point: these limited edition khaki-colored nail polishes from Chanel. Come to mama.

summer issue

While the rest of the country is gearing up for fall, we’re finally welcoming summer in San Francisco. And it’s got me dreaming about swimsuits and bare shoulders and popsicles. These photos from the Fasion156 summer issue are sure putting me in that summery mood!

scenes from the weekend

This was the weekend that summer finally arrived in San Francisco, and we tried to spend every waking minute of it outside. Saturday morning I walked the Alamo Square indie mart and flea market solo, and came home with a pretty gold bowl I plan to use as a catchall by the front door and a stack of vintage portraits. I’m not sure what I’ll do with them yet, but I had to bring them home with me! In the afternoon we met some friends in the Mission for the SF Street Food Festival where we braved long lines and stuffed ourselves silly. A few favorites were a Scotch egg from Purple Hibiscus, a Zilla dog from 4505 Meats, and a gourmet s’more from Kika’s Treats.

Banana Nutella pancakes for Sunday brunch (no time for a picture before I gobbled them down) at The Grind after a late night celebrating a friend’s “San Franniversary” and a quick trip to the top of Twin Peaks. No fog in sight meant lots of tourists and amazing views of the city. Sunday afternoon I met a new friend for a late lunch before heading to my first ever professional football game (her husband works for the 49ers and we scored free tickets). We didn’t make it through the whole game, but we did see Brett Favre get sacked!

About the random hand photo: I gave Sula’s paint and peel polish another try, and this time it lasted a whole day before I was unable to resist the urge to peel it off. I would call that a success! Time to get some more colors.

friday finds: milk & paper

Lovely bits for pretty packages from French (of course!) shop Milk & Paper… I can’t get over all the different color and pattern options for masking tape!
