dark was the night

I have been eagerly anticipating the compilation album Dark Was the Night that is {finally} coming out next week! Produced by Aaron and Bryce Dessner from The National, the album benefits the Red Hot Organization, an international charity dedicated to raising money and awareness for HIV and AIDS. And the list of contributing artists is absolutely insane. Bon Iver, Andrew Bird, The Decemberists, Feist, Ben Gibbard… just to name a few. See the 31-song tracklist here.

They’ve been doing a track-by-track premeire of the album (a different song each day) on their MySpace page, and today you can hear the Gillian Welch/Conor Oberst duet “Lua”. Listen here, today only!
